Tell him to do a manual search for network, choose any network that is not O2, it will fail or say not allowed, after that just choose O2.It may take a few attempts to go back on O2. After that switch the network back to automatic, and switch the phone off completely for a few seconds and then back on, and try to make a phone call. let me know what happends
