anyone know if a o2 pay&go sim works in tesco locked mobile

I would have thought not. I believe Tesco Mobile phones are "double locked" so need unlocking by Tesco before you can put any other SIM in, including O2.

No it won't.
A Tesco sim will work in an o2 mobile but not the other way around.

Phone network lock and sim locked to phone, so you can't even use a different Tesco sim.
