So i am on the text and web tariff and i burn through texts then end up eating the £10 credit i have because of emojis so ive decided to move to the £15 big bundle and i was wondering if sending emojis on texts would charge me extra or just eat a few more of the 2000 texts? just to add im using an iphone 5s and wont be sending texts over imessage or whatsapp

@MI5 i didn't even know that was an option! haha its just my tariff is really old, im talking maybe 2009 old and the £15 big bundle gives me more for the same money so i may as well take it, which i may end up doing anyway, i just wanted to know about emojis and normal sms-ing because the CS didnt really know and it took me an hour to get through after being cut off

It's quite simple really.
Any text that is more that 480 characters will send as an MMS.
Below 480 and it will send as a normal SMS.

yeah i understand that all perfectly fine, so basically im screwed because i cant send emojis on texts as there will be no money on my phone to send it as an mms? looks like its time to move to EE as i know you can emojis on their texts 😕

Why do you want to send emojis anyway? I get my feelings and intentions across without the use of emoticons as friends and family will testify

Yes, you can send them as long as you watch the character count.....

If you decide to move to EE you should check your coverage first. Might not be as good as the signal you get with O2. Alternatively, you might want to look at a monthly sim only contract rather than the Big Bundle. For £16 per month you get unlimited texts.
