OP won't get the new PAYG sim unless someone has access to his mail in the UK and can send the sim to him. Can the PAYG sim be activated if the OP is still abroad?

I thought you need to top up to activate the sim and that this can only be done from overseas with a UK debit/credit card registered to a UK address.?

They may have to get a family member in the UK to do it otherwise...
