spare phone sim stopped working

Hi

i found my spare phone after losing it for 6 months- battery almost full (nokia) but the sim doesnt work.

Ideas?

Hi @Anonymous this is probably due to the fact that it has been unused for 6 months so O2 have put a block on the number for security. Give them a call and they may be able to reactivate it https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Info on your problem here . You need to make a chargeable call or text at least once every 6 months and top up at least once every 999 days to keep your sim active

The sim needs to make a chargeable call/text in any 6 month period and be topped up every 999 days otherwise the sim is deactivated and the number eventually reclaimed to be used again.

Call customer service or use live chat and they will reactivate the sim and any credit will be reinstated 24 hours later. It does depend on how long since it was last used, up to around 9 months should be ok.

@Anonymous If the sim hasn’t been used for more than 6 months then it’s likely that the number has been recycled & allocated to someone else
