sim swap with deactivated sim

hi everyone, i have just upgraded to a iphone 5 so i not longer need my iphone4s and its deactivated micro sim. my question is my mother has a 3gs so she needs a micro sim to use my old iphone 4s can i do the sim swap with my old deactivated micro sim or do i need to get a new one? hope this makes sense.

You will need to either pick up a new payg or open up a monthly contract micro sim.

They will have plenty of payg micro sims in the high street shops and usually ask you to top up with £10 at the time of collection.

If the sim hasn't been used for six months it may no longer work, you could ask O2 or get one from an O2 shop.

the sim was only deactivated today. was just wondering as it would save a trip to the o2 shop and could sim swap tonight.
