wifi calling has been working fine on my phone for several months but the last couple of days its going up and down all the time. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. this is the also the case when I try a different wifi access point at a different location - sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't. could this be anything to do with the service from O2?

I've tried rebooting the phone - no change. I've also tried rebooting my router - still no change. I've tried switching wifi calling on and off - no change. also tried enabling and disabling flight mode - no change. any help appreciated as wifi calling is very important to me. I get an atrocious mobile service from O2 where I live and when wifi calling is not working I miss lots of calls. and I also can hardly ever dial out.

@tonjg If it's been working in the past you need to contact your broadband provider. You could also contact Samsung for assistance: Product Help & Support | Samsung UK

@tonjg Your broadband provider has everything to do with it. They supply the signal to your router which gives you the WiFi signal at home. If you're out and about you might be using an O2 WiFi hotspot but only if you're in range. Wifi and 4G Calling explained

Check your phone for any pending updates but O2 wifi calling can be flaky at times and server maintenance may also have a bearing on it working,

thanks I did check my phone for updates and I am up to date. I did wonder if this is a problem at O2's end and has nothing to do with my phone because I get the same flakiness when connected to a different wifi access point at a different location.

If it doesn't improve, contact O2 to report the issue.

@tonjg In the general scheme of things, your phone would probably now be considered as old. Have you contacted Samsung to see if they can offer any help?

I also found this. Take a look to see if there's anything there to help you: Top 11 Fixes for Wi-Fi Calling Not Working on Android (guidingtech.com)

@tonjg Sounds like Samsung is passing the buck. Contact O2 by all means but don't get your hopes up for a solution. I'm not trying to sell you anything but you may just need an upgrade.
