Hi
I am in abroad currently. And not using O2 SIM but using local SIM. But every now and then for every 2 or 3 days I keep O2 SIM( by keeping data roaming OFF) in device and check for any missed calls. However I could notice roaming messages charges from number 0780200332 being applied in my bill with £0.41 each time I keep SIM on device even though I never made any messages. Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks
Haris

That is the international gateway message centre.
Your phone is sending text messages when you turn on.
If you are using an iPhone it will be iMessage registering on the serversd or if android, it could be visual voicemaill registering.

The number shown is the message centre number for O2 when you send texts.
If you havent sent any you need to contact Customer services to ask them what the charges are for

How can that happen when they aren't sending messages. (Just asking for a friend )
Explanation in post.
iMessage, VVM or any other service requiring a handshake with a server located in another country.

iMessage can be turned off too, but yes, not having an iPhone would certainly help

Turn off iMessage whilst you are away.
It's not you sending messages, the phone does it automatically.
