premium number dialled... I don't think so !

ok so I come back from hiliday and there's a big o2 bill waiting for me so I look on internet at my account and decide to ring o2 on my mobile to clarify things.

I'm pretty certain I didn't dial a premium number to speak to them (why would I when its free to call them from mobile) anyway I now have a bill for £14 for one call to 02.

My question is has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like it was diverted through an international operator. Did the ring tone change at all?

I have rung from Thailand twice without problems.

So did you make the call while away? Hong Kong is part of China now don't forget - was the call made while in Hong Kong?

Calls made in China are £1.50/min if routed through the operator....soon rack up £14.

No the call to the premium number was made when i returned from my travels, i was calling about another charge (data usage that i dispute) made whilst in Hong Kong.  It all seems to be linked!
