Anonymous
Not applicable

i am disgusted with 02 signal and now customer service, have had lose of signal in my work area for months now, 3 weeks ago called 02 customer services who eventually via tech ppl confirmed we have 4 masts down in our area. guy couldnt say how long they had been down or when they would be fixed, i asked for some kind of reduction in my £32 a month payment for ongoing loss of service, he said he couldnt do that and would ring me back with feed back 2 weeks ago, this didnt happen. I have sine tweeted 02 CS to get the same info that yes its  mast issue and no they can help. see the thread >https://twitter.com/ice_trucker

i have tried calling 02 on 4445 all week but cant keep a signal long enough to get an answer, this evening i tried life chat with 02 see below, they cut me off !!!

02 its time to try and help as ppl are getting fed up, plz reply to this

02 still haven't got back to me, they probably won't, but take my money each month eh. They need to work hard now to keep customers.

I'm not sure what you expect them to do, you know there are problems with masts in your area and that they're being worked on, there is nothing else you can be told.

I assume your a payg customer if your ringing customer services on 4445

Why not check out the other networks by using their payg SIM cards and ask for your PAC code to move networks to one that's more stable in your area.

If your on contract ring them on 202 or From a landline 0844 8090202
5p / min

O2 state in their t&c that the service is not fault free and will repair an issue as quickly as possible.

"3. The Services we supply and what you can expect of us – Our services aren’t available everywhere in the UK. They’re not fault free, and speed and quality, for example, can be affected by things like the thickness of the walls of the building you’re in, atmospheric conditions, technical issues with the network and the number of people near you trying to access the services at the same time. Details are in paragraph 2 of the Agreement."

I feel your frustration as my service has suffered over the last few months too.

That and the network outage yesterday it does not help.

The O2 signal in my area of Herts has diminished these last 12mths or so, unless phones have got worse receiving signal. Doubt it, cos sometimes it's 5 bars and sometimes nothing. I have my own HTC, work Blackberry and wife has iPhone 4S all on O2 and they all suffer the same.

You could try apps such as viber and whatsapp when your at home.

Or even O2's Tugo.

A business customer can request a boost box.

Usual other remedies are ;

Clean your SIM card.
Replace the SIM card and do a sim swap.
Have your phone checked out.
Move to another network if possible.

What did they say when you reported this?

Have you checked for mast issues in your area?

I have recently completed a tour of UK and Ireland from Aus thinking use of a local O2 card would give data access for my Samsung smart phone as I went (Google maps etc) but alas I was lucky to see a 3G signal with most signal at G  and some HSCSD in major towns/cities- 400 M of my 1G of data bolt-was used as a result.

I guess I am used to Tesltra coverage in Audstralia where 3G/4G is available on most major routes in the south-eastern states.  A warning to other travellers.
