dunno how i even turned it on but cant figure out how to turn off please help

If you never want to use data just call O2 CS http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus and ask them to remove the data provisioning from your account.

i got settings but no access point. options i got are as follows

tones, display, date and time, my short cuts, sync and back up, connectivity, call, device, accessories, configuration, security, restore fact sett

You need to go into connectivity and look for access point. I think the option will be to 'always ask'.

right i got 2 options in connectivity, one is blue tooth, which is switched off, the other sayspacket data

i clicked this and options i now have areactive access point which at mo is set to o2 pay as go or edit active access point which has email addy of payandgo.co.uk typed in  

and thats it

Edit the active access point and just delete any of the letters which means that it will be disabled. Then save it.
