Hi @Anonymous. Is the phone working normallly for everything else? If so you could try a few things. Reboot the phone....check your wifi settings to make sure you have a connection ...reset the router.

With mine we simply unplug the connection from the back of the router, leave it a few seconds and plug back in......after a few minutes it reboots and then works fine...

Which email service are you using? As this sounds like your email server is having issues.

Have you tried on 4G and WiFi and do you get the same error?

What device are you using?
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Can you send emails elsewhere or is it just to your PC that is the problem?
Which email account are you sending from?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

There should be a pinhole or reset button on the router too.

Funny you should say that @jonsie We recently went from HH3 to HH5 and have just noticed ours has a restart button on the top...(the HH3 didn't) Anyway.. last week when it was playing up... I just pulled the connection from the back as before. It worked ok after that reset...Smiley Very Happy

If it isn't to do with your router and you are out of the house when you try to send an email to your own account, I suspect you may have the wrong settings for SMTP in your phone (the settings for sending mail).

Could it be that you are using the smtp settings for your broadband ISP?  If you try to send from your phone you will probably not be able to send any email until you are connected to your home broadband.

The solution would be to use the smtp either from your email provider, if its Gmail or Hotmail etc.

If you can't get your own email provider's SMTP settings to work then you can use O2 settings for sending email (while keeping your own email provider for incoming email). To do this your main email settings should look like this...

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Host Name: smtp.o2.co.uk
User Name: youro2username@o2.co.uk
Password: youro2password

Your Advanced settings should look like this...
Outgoing Settings
Use SSL: Off
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 25
