I have recently purchased an o2 home hub and for some reason now my phone is being used as the hub.
This means I can't use it as a phone and make calls

At a guess you have upgraded your phone to the hub so your tariff has switched over to data only.
Obviously this was a mistake so you'll either need to call customer service to switch it back or purchase a new SIM only tariff for your phone Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
