complained before about this 2 years ago, after holiday , and was told should have called whilst on holiday

and the difference it makes is ?

its a good job campsites now seem to be catching on to free wifi as it would have meant paying for hotspots wifi as o2 roaming does seem a waste of time

I asked if they were throttling today, got this response:

We're not throttling data, but there has been some 4G issues in Germany and it's currently being investigated. 3G is working as normal.

I wonder if the speed restrictions have been put back in again now?
Out of holiday season we have been seeing some great speeds reported across EU but O2 do state they reserve the right to throttle speeds during peak holiday seasons.

Hi @grantmc

Sorry to hear of this. Particularly as Germany now has 4G

If your phone was set up correctly as you say... you shouldn't have had any problems at all.

We have had customers returning from Germany delighted with the speeds on O2-DE

Did you try a manual network selection?

If you think it would help you could complain https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

Could just be poor reception from the local networks if you're not seeing a decent signal.
Nothing O2 can do about that.

Well that's some sort of explanation at least @iphone4sir

Though if 3G was working well, @grantmc shouldn't have experienced this level of slowness?

I certainly didn't in Spain before they got 4G

If the phone was still seeing a 4g signal it wouldn't automatically drop to 3g so that would explain the problem.

Does anyone know if the 4G problems have been fixed? I’m currently in Munich and my iPhone tries to use 4G but it’s non-existent - I can’t even do a speed test. Have tried several different locations in Munich. Switched to 3G which works fine but disappointed I can’t use 4G.
