o2 UK - NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

I`ve done o2 refresh almost 2 months ago - I receive my iphone 6 and after 1.5 hour using it the problems has started. It lost 3G signal and there was no internet connection (only wifi works) - 3 or 4 (can`t remember now) sim swaps - didn`t help, hours spend on the phone and in store with tech support doing settings - didn`t help, finally o2 decidet to send the phone to o2 repair centre - when it comes back after setting update - what a surprise - NO 3G, NO INTERNET. Again phone line and doing settings - every time when I was on the phone with them I was told - o2 account is OK, and phone is OK - so why it still doesn`t work?????!!!! I was even been told by them that the phone should not been send for repair because it is OK. Finally after a month some women on the phone line found some issue in my o2 account and she asked to wait another 5 days and it will be all fine - after 5 days - what a surprise again - no 3G, no Internet, no subscriptions, they offered to send iphone to apple service!!! What for if in the past they said that everything is OK with that phone???!!! - I decided to stop it, had enough - i`m gonna cancel that sh.....t contract today but another funny surprise - I have to pay almost 600 for cancellation because that says contract! I will do that - I just got enough of that irresponsible people.

Be aware people, because they treat their customers like rubbish

Dan...

Sorry you are having issues but in all honesty you would be better finding your nearest Apple store to have the phone checked out.
If you are able to make/receive calls and texts it's unlikely to be an account issue.
The most likely cause is the incorrect data bolt on and apn settings.
To end the contract at this stage would entail you paying the handset part of the refresh contract.

Apple should be your first port of call. Get them to check phone and if OK you need to check your apn settings.
What are they now and have you got data for iPhone enabled in your My o2 ?

Apn will be different depending on type of data package you have so need to know that first please.

Hi Dan

Please telephone O2 on 202 and make sure you are on iData Settings. This is important for your Internet to work.

Also -> http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Apple-iOS-Devices-iPhone-iPad/Connecting-iPhone-to-Data-Services/m-p/54...

If after checking your on iData Settings -> Do you not get 3G connection in one place or everywhere ?

Do other people in your area on O2 have the same issue ?

Can you try your sim in another phone as a process of elimination to seeif it is the phone. If another phone takes a bigger SIM card then O2 shops have free sim adapter trays to make the nano sim to a micro sim etc.

Look here http://status.o2.co.uk to see if it shows good for your masts.

These tips may help too http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

If you have an Apple Store local I would suggest having a diagnostic run on the iPhone via an appointment at the Genius Bar http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/

If the phone shows a fault they'll give you a new one even tho you obtained it from O2.

It is correct that you would have to pay off the Handset Plan to cancel the airtime plan to walk away. You could sell the iPhone to help accrue the funds to do so. You can also unlock it to all networks via https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form when you've paid it off so you can use it on other networks or increase its street value.

Before signing up to any new network please try them out via their payg SIM cards to ensure they give good service. Don't go by online checkers.

You can also take your number with you to another network via a PAC code -> http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/54427...

Please let us know how you get on.

I've had to set mine up also when I first got my iPhone 6. I rang O2 CS and they changed my tariff to an iPhone one (it should have been in the first place) and then gave it some time and the net started working slight_smile and then if that's still problems I would pop into apple website they do live support chats and they will help you as best as they can up until you needed a genius appointment which may by the case slight_smile

My thoughts from the first post and answer I have are that the account is on the wrong data tariff.
Easily fixed by cs though.

Don't think you're allowed to link to another site that sells the same products as o2.
