o2 PAYG number transfer to o2 pay monthly

Hi,

 

I recently got a o2 pay monthly sim, previously was on o2 PAYG. I completed the form to transfer my old o2 PAYG number to my new pay monthly.

 

The o2 PAYG number lost service on Monday 2nd Dec at around 10am, I could also not log into my o2 account, I assumed the number transfer was underway. I was able to login to my o2 account on Tuesday 3rd Dec  morning but the pay monthly number was still showing. I’ve turned my phone off and on multiple times but when I try and call my old o2 number it just says number not recognised.

 

I have contacted customer support, once on Monday evening and again on Tuesday morning 24hrs after I lost service, was informed firstly on Monday that the o2 PAYG number had been released at 9.47am and the transfer was underway but it would take up to 24hrs to complete, but nothing happened, the number is still not active, I contacted customer support again on Tuesday who checked again with the PAYG team who confirmed the number had been released but this time was told the release time was around 5pm (although I lost service at 10am), customer services assured me the transfer would take place yesterday but it could be Wednesday taking it well past 24hrs.

 

I’ve logged into my o2 account again this morning and still showing the new pay monthly number, Just feeling a little bit palmed off by customer services as to when the transfer will take place, do they know or are able to physically check the progress ?

 

Is it normal for an o2 PAYG number to take so long to transfer to a pay monthly ? Any advice on what to do next ?

I’ll have to eat my words, literally 40mins after posting this got text messages from o2 and the number has been transferred. Took 46hrs for anyone else going through the same process but it could take less or longer by sounds of it. Issue resolved.

Is it normal? Well not unusual. It's a simple process that O2 don't seem to grasp.

Sadly, we can to anything as customers here.
