Hi and welcome

Two things spring to mind. ...

1. Possible fault with pin connections.
2. And please don't be offended at the suggestion. Was it plugged in but the socket not stitched on?

Hi thanks yes it was switched on, do you mean the pins where you plug in the charger?  It is charging okay now, just checked.

If this happens again what is the policy for returning for a replacement when only four months old?

Many thanks joules

Yes. If the pins weren't connected the phone wouldn't charge.

Your phone has a 12 month manufacturers warranty so you can return it to your retailer who, if it is a contract phone day from o2 or cpw will send for repair.

I should add that if you purchased the phone directly from o2 we would normally recommend you return it to the manufacturers for repair as. ....

1. Nokia know their phones best
2. O2 Repairs have a poor reputation and are not recommended generally on here.

You shouldn't let modern phones run out completely as they don't like it.
Usually have to leave therm plugged in for a while if you do.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Some Carfone Warehouses have Nokia Repair Centres in them if this happens again.

Help link -> http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/mobile/support/care-point/

I wouldn't let O2 repairs have it.

I also have this model of phone and fortunately not had this issue.
