I upgraded my account yesterday, but still have No Service on my phone. How long does it take to kick in?

Usually up to 24 hours once the sim swap process begins but is usually done within a couple of hours. It sounds like either the old sim has been deactivated while waiting for the new sim to be active. Try rebooting the phone & see what happens

Use your old sim or do a sim swap if you need to use the new sim.

We have checked the O2 help pages about Upgrading your device and they say:

On the day of the switch

  • You'll need to be in the UK when your number switches.
  • On the day of the switch, your current sim will lose signal. When this happens, put your new O2 sim in your phone. If you don't have an O2 signal, switch your phone off and on every couple of hours until you get a signal. If you still don't have signal by 6 pmcontact us here.
  • Texts and picture messaging can take up to 24 hours to work after the switch.
