hi friends, i am a new customer to O2, when i took out my contract i was quoted a price of 17 .00 pounds a

month, which was reduced to 14.00 pounds with new customer discount, to which i agreed.

On recieving my first bill of 17.00 pounds i contacted o2 aqnd told them it was supposed to be 14.00,

they assured me that the next bill would adjust iyself and i would be discounted the difference, on

recieving my next bill, it was 19.18 pounds , when i contacted them they said that the more recent

bill included Vat .  When i took out the contract i assumed the price quoted would be the price i paid

but seemingly not, I wonder if any other customers have experienced similar , and do they think it is

faie, would love to hear from the community, thank you

Hi @jasmar I wonder if you took out a discounted tariff? See information here

https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Where-is-my-discount-or-Extra-Data/bc-p/1075494

If so the discount will be shown as a bolt on in My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

You should see the correct discounted price when your bill is generated. If this isn't happening then you need to contact customer services again https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus  and seek clarification from them

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum Welcome

@jasmarI will add that if you have a personal (consumer contract) VAT is inclusive. If you are a Business customer then Vat is excluded.

Either way, you need to check it out with customer services again as you are being misinformed somewhere

Look at the breakdown of your bill in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2 and it will show you your charges excluding vat.
With the vat added it should be the correct price that you were quoted assuming you haven’t made any international calls or texts or any premium rate services as these are charged extra.

Also @jasmar if you bought your phone in April, your tariff would be subject to RPI increase of 4%

It happens every year to every customer no matter what network you are on. Take a look at this guide.

It wouldnt account for the amount you were charged which is why I suggeted a call to customer services may well be in order. We have no access to your account. Only CS can explain the different prices you are being shown

RPI INCREASE

Also remember your first bill will always be higher than your normal monthly payment.
See help here on first bill https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/first-bill

That all makes understanding your bill a little complicated but don't worry, your next bill will be at the agreed amount.
