my O2 phone

Hi, my name is Karen and I'm new: hoping to get some help with my phone.
I bought my phone from EBay recently and it is locked to o2, so I bought an o2 Sim but it does not work ( I don't want to mess about the first unlocking it as it would cost more than the phone is worth), any advice greatly received. Thanks

Hi' I know I should do what has been suggested but the phone was very cheap (it was for my daughter just to see her until Christmas until she gets a better one), and it might cost more to send it back than the phone is worth' will try and contact O2 or go into O2 Shop to get something sorted. One good thing though has taught me a good lesson about buying a phone from Ebay, Thankyou everyone again for helping!

You're welcome from us all.

A learning curve yes.

That said some will buy that way and be fine with their phones.

Take care.

Hi @Anonymous So pleased the phone wasn't expensive. If you want a phone to last till Christmas you could look at your local CEX store. If you have a problem they will refund or exchange wink

I know @jonsie ...and apparently you were correct. At least the OP hadn't spent a lot of money on the phone..

EBay now requires the seller to pay return postage for any items that are faulty or not as described so you will not be out of pocket.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Well I contacted o2 but couldn't help any more than they had online and haven't been able to get to a shop yet! (was mulling over an answer by 'Sammy Boy' about the Sim Reader being faulty), despite getting the phone Cheap and from EBay the Phone is Emaculate LIKE NEW in fact so the person who had it can't have had it long or they never used it so how can the Sim Reader break, they should have had it repaired or taken it back to where they bought it not sold it on EBay! - but as I don't think I'll be contacting them will never know!
