Hi I want to take my mobile to the usa to use only if required. I usually turn it off when travelling there but would like to use it if required. What is cheapest way to do this?

Hi @huntmj

The cheapest way, if you want to use your current phone, is to get the O2 Travel bolt on applied

https://www.o2.co.uk/o2travelupdate

For £4.99 per day you get 120 mins 120 calls and data. If you don't use it on any given day then you wont be charged if you just use WiFi

You can get O2 Travel by texting O2TRAVEL to 23336. (on contract)

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-abroad

When not using it just turn data roaming and mobile data OFF and use Wifi. You can keep in touch with friends and relatives by using whatsapp or messenger over WiFi

O2 Travel @£4.99/day unless you have O2 Travel Inclusivewhich is available on certain tariffs. Best option is to use wifi only and Whatsapp or meassanger is the cheapest way to keep in contact with home. Switch off mobile data and data roaming off for the days you know you won't be using it. You will still get texts as normal even with them switched off

@huntmj If you're going to use WhatsApp or Messenger over Wi-Fi, the person you are contacting must have the app too.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
