lost sim card

i have lost my sim card.  I am abroad, so I am unable to walk into a shop to report it.  There is no option when phoning from abroad - the only option is for a stolen phone.  I am going to be abroad for over six months. There is never a chat person available I have been tring for over a week now, on and off ... Suggestions
