for weeks now myself and my wife who are both on o2  keep losing service . it drops signal on or hansets and says emergency only . this has happened alot over the time we have been with o2in our area but yet each time we check up on why there is no reason . good signal in our area , no problems , no repairs etc is what we get online or over phone ..once we get threw. obviously there is a problem . my wife was told it was her sim once as a reason and low and behold the same loss of service happened with the new one . new handsets dont sort it either . think its time as a whole this was sorted as its not our fault but your service

You are talking to other customers here and whist we would agree, we can do nothing to help....
O2 are rolling out network improvements all over during the next 1-2 years so hopefully you will see some improvement as many have already....

Hi and Welcome to the forum,

 

 

Sometimes cleaning your sim and or repacing them does help in some instances.

 

Alternatives such as TuGo for pay Monthly Customers or WhatsApp and Viber are viable alternatives to help too which all work off home broadband WiFi.

 

If your not locked into a contract then changing networks could be an option although it is best to check out the alternatives by trying out their payg sims first, and then you can take your number with you.
