keeping number when moving from pay& go to 30day monthly

i am currently on pay & go and was looking at the 30 day monthly deals, i can get a better offer with the 30 day monthly. but would like to keep my current o2 number and move to monthly, is that easy to do?

i can order a sim online but will it give me a new number? 

if i call into a o2 shop will they be able to do it for me their and then?

You will need to call customer service to keep your number in this case as it requires them to change billing platform of your account.
If you call they will do it all for you and send you a new sim which is also required and transfer any credit upto £350 too.
