keeping number moving one O2 contract to new O2 contract

HI, recently received my new Samsung Galaxy that i bought through Affordable mobiles. Wanted to move from O2 contract and old phone to a new contract with O2 on new phone and keep my number.

I received a new phone and SIM and before I got a chance to get a PAC code from my old phone O2 switched the SIM off. 

Can I still bring my old number? Is O2 in the process of switching the number? How long will this take if this is the case?

Ive no idea what is happening and simply cant get through to O2. Its impossible.....

Thanks to the number you provided I got through to 2 folk who new what they were doing, They checked my security info across each mobile number and then switched off the new number. Asked me to keep re-booting the phone and within 10 mins my number that I've had for years and do loads of business through was transferred to my new phone.
