i have an existing O2 pay monthly account which will run for another month. but i have a new phone with a new o2 number can i transfer my existing number to my new phone? thanks

Yes, if it's the same size sim just swap them over. If not just pop into your nearest O2 store and pick up a new sim and they will arrange the number transfer for you. That way you just carry on your present contract. Or call 202 to order a new sim and use the online form :
