I've been a customer of O2 / BT Cellnet Pay Monthly for over ten years and always take out 12 month contracts. During my last contract they didn't offer 12 month options, so I reluctantly took out an 18 month contract, which I hated, I felt 'bound' for too long.
My upgrade is coming up in a fortnight and I want an iPhone 5, however, O2 are only offering 24 month contracts.
Is this for real? If it is, it looks like I'm gonna have to switch to Vodafone of EE who offer 12 month contracts for similar monthly payments as O2's 24 month contract.
Who have I gotta whinge too to get a 12 month (or at a push 18 month) contract?

This was discussed at launch .
Only by talking to retentions 202 and ask for them will you get the answer from o2 but I guess it will be still the iphone 5 is only on 24 month contracts

Definitely speak to retentions. The only people who have posted on here who have managed to get 12 or 18 month contracts have done so through retentions.

I Agree you need to speak to retentions I know I wouldnt be happy signing up for 24 months 18 is too long in my opinion

Go sim free, buy the phone outright then choose a sim only deal suited to you
