iPhone SE Setup Personal Hotspot

I've just got an iPhone SE and when selecting Setup Personal Hotspot I get the message 'to enable personal hotspot visit www.o2.co.uk/iphonehelp/modem'. Needless to say say that page does not exist and  I am dumped into a general help page. Searching there I find the only relevant entry;

"For Pay Monthly customers, if you have an iPhone or Android, simply switch Personal Hotspot on to get started." Well, I simply do that and that just gives me what I started this message with.

On my Android phome I just entered the parameters; name, password and off you go.

I spoke to someone by phone and they were no help other than the usual fix all 'switch off and on again'

Call customer services again and ask them to put you in iData which is the correct one for an iPhone,
Currently you are on the wrong data tariff.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Very probably on a Blackberry data bolt on. This seems to happen to everyone so customer service should be looking for this on every call.

It's appalling that O2 make such a big thing about the iPhone launch, yet can't get those customers on the right bolt on.:smileysad:

Thanks for the quick response I'll contact them tomorrow. In their setup page for iPhone they provide wrong details such as setting APN to mobile.co.uk when it has automatically been set to idata.co.uk. Jeez, just how difficult can you make it and get the information correct and consistent so the support staff can actually help.

It needs to be iData for all functions to work correctly.

Yes thank you, spoke to someone in support the following day who knew exactly what to do and make the simple change to the account. Feedback to O2 might be appropriate so that customers and support staff are given the correct information.
