Tried to use phone and found I was unable to make or receive calls or receive text messages, the settings apper to be nomal. 

Any assistance gratefyully received

Many thaanks for your replies, I fixed it by turning the iphone off and later turned it on.  I should have thought to do it before requesting assistance - many thanks
