iPhone 5 showing no service in Mali

I have just arrived in Mali from Afghanistan. My iPhone 5 is showing no service although in Afghanistan was working perfectly ok. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried manually choosing the available network there.

Check carefully about roaming charges obviously.

Try a local sim if your phone is unlocked or use wifi are other alternatives.

Are you pay monthly or payg? if payg o2 do not have roaming in place for mali .

If on monthly try all the ususl things like airplane mode and manual network selection and turning 3g off

If your on pay monthly with roaming set up then perhaps ring 02 on the abroad telephone number.

I would not normaly recomend this but as you have no service but can get online.

Check with o2 via live chat that no bars have been placed on your account.

Try using an Internet cafe if available.

Do you have tugo installed ? if so you could use that over wifi to call 202 but it needs to be active already as it is activated by sms
