Why am I getting charged for data when im not on my phone???

Just because you are not actively using your phone does not mean it is not doing something.
Most phones are searching for network connections or updating information in the background.
Unless you actively turn off sync or background refresh (or similar) or turn off data altogether this is likely to continue.

Some PAYG tariffs charge a £1 Web daily charge which is triggered by the use of any data at all.
To prevent this data should be turned off on the phone completely.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Sounds like daily Web kicking in. Have you thought of changing tariff to an inclusive data one. Probably work out cheaper unless you switch off mobile/cellular data altogether.
