Good morning @cw

Can you please remove your phone number as this is a public forum and anyone could see it.

If you are on a Refresh contract you will have to pay off the remainder of your device plan and give 30 days notice to cancel your airtime. Help on how to cancel your contract here:

https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/ba-p/566774

You need to speak to Customer Services http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus to cancel the airtime portion of your contract. Ringing 8-8:30am is best to avoid a long wait.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Cancelling your contract is a very expensive option @cw

O2 can advise you take have insurance but it's not part of your terms and conditions when you take out a contract?

Does your device need repair?

@cw Firstly, O2 doesn't require customers to take insurance. That's for the individual to decide, and some are covered by their home insurance or through their bank.
Secondly, are you sure it was O2 who called you? O2 allow third party 'trusted partners' to call if you don't change your preferences on your MyO2 page.
Taking insurance is a good idea if you have a very expensive phone, but it's entirely your decision, and not a requirement.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Just because o2 called you, for any reason, does not entitle you to cancel for free.
Sure, you can pay up what you owe and leave, but that’s your only option.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
