generic network failure

re HTC Wildfire

Despite two sessions with live chat and being e-mailed two lots of the same information which as been followed to the letter, number and dot. I still cannot send pictures as attachments to a text message. Every time I get the 'generic network failure' message. arghhhhh...........

The only discrepancy is instruction no24 which says tap your new account so a green dot appears, on this phone only the screen area concerned flashes green ( then disappears) and then it takes five return stokes to return to the main menu not four.

Any ideas please?

thanks,

I would suggest ringing O2 on 202
Contract or 4445 Payg and ask for your account to be provisioned for mms.

Self help thread.

The dot must remain green.
Are you using 1 or 2 apn's?
Does internet work over mobile data?
Are you contract or PAYG?
Have you got credit?

On my HTC Wildfire there is no 'dot' just the screen briefly lights up green then goes off again.

1 apn (entered twice due to the same set of instructions issued twice)

I cannot get internet I have no data allowance

PAYG

£33 in credit

Many thanks for the link. Crikes, lots of info there. I will have to work my way through that lot and see if it makes any difference. How come a 9yr old can easily do this and at 55 I can't?

Wasn't life less complicated before mobiles?
