fraud department telephone number

Anonymous
Not applicable

The online O2 chat guru has advised me to talk to the Fraud Department and given the number 08448471428 which seems to be permanently engaged. Has anyone got any alternatives they can suggest please.

Also has anyone else had someone purporting to be them and asking (successfully) for their phone to be blocked as it was stolen when in fact they were not me and I had not lost my phone but couldn't use it as O2 had blocked it thanks to this bogus caller?

Thanks.

A long time ago someone reported the same issue - It was a "friend" playing a prank, I believe.
Speak to CS on the landline number in the link and after you have passed the security checks they will reinstate your phone - Also a good idea to change your security passwords whilst you are at it too.

How long have you had the phone and where did you purchase it?

Thanks - I did talk to them and it was reinstated after 24 hours, but wouldn't O2 have made them answer some security questions before accepting the instruction? Also I don't have prangster friends!

Could be a new scam method to get a replacement phone delivered to a new address.

Or it was a genuine block request but O2 in error blocked the wrong phone...possible ?

That's why I suggested that you change your password - even if is someone who knows it they may try it again.

Or, it could have just been a mistake.....
