direct debit mandates

Can anyone explain why I have 2 direct debit mandates? I took out an s5 2 weeks ago and the first bill is due tomorro. Just went onto my bank there and two payments are due out. Would this be one for device plan and one for calls etc? Bit worried as i don't want two big bills coming out at once. Thanks very much.

Presuming you have a Refresh contract you will have two direct debits, one for the purchase of the phone and one for the airtime contract.

All explained here : http://www.o2.co.uk/refresh

The direct debits combined will equal the monthly tariff you agreed to.

Your first bill will be slightly higher than normal which is explained here and here.

How O2 Refresh works

Your monthly bill is split into two parts – the Airtime Plan and Device Plan.

Airtime Plan

Data, minutes & texts

Device Plan

Device cost

Monthly
cost

At the end of your 24 month contract, you stop paying for your phone and just pay for your Airtime Plan – saving you money on your monthly bill.

And if you want a new phone before your contract's up, just pay off whatever's left of your Device Plan. Then choose your new phone and start again.
