trying to get hold of statement showing i have paid off device plan cant use my o2 or app since i have now left o2.

You should get something in the post to show it is paid off, this normally comes through about 2 -3 weeks after the device is paid off.

You can also call Customer Services and they maybe to get one posted out to you the number to call is 0344 809 0202

@stalyman65 You can call customer service for free from any phone on 0800 032 1402.
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
The number isn't available until 9 am.
