does anyone know if I chose the delivery report option on my phone does 02 charge for that service ? I am on pay monthly contract.

No it's part of the text allowance if your phone pushes for a delivery report.

O2 don't support delivery reports even if you tick the option. I believe it has been known to work on one model of phone and O2 don't charge.

To get a delivery report start each message with *0#

I've only found it work on the HTC One but it is free.
