Hi, Ive had a call from a company claiming to be calling on behalf of O2???? never had this before as ive always upgraded via My02 website account??

they convinced me that it was all above board and they are working on behalf of 02.

I then  had another call from: cpwonlinesolutions.com, saying they couldnt get the new sim sorted as some details didnt match!!! now im worried, is this a scam or another company trying to take me away from 02???

what should i do?? the email address of the lady that phoned me today is:saraht@cpwonlinesolutions.com.

at bottom of email it says theyare part of the carphone warehouse.

Very wise. CPW do have access to O2's database irrespective of what anyone tells you. I had never set foot in CPW up to going in and purchasing a bluetooth for my son one Christmas. On paying they asked me for house number/postcode and the receipt I got included my mobile number, network and monthly tariff.

Why would cpw have my details?

Because they have access to O2s system.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

They do. Don't forget the tie-in and partnership for the iphone 5 launch and supply.

That's a great point @jonsie

I forgot that CPW asks those questions to me when purchasing phones / accessories.

Very clever building up a database.

At least the OP knows now that that now too.

What irks me is the 'play' on words when cold calling you and not being entirely open that they are not O2 but a trusted partner.

That seems wrong that you can't opt out of O2 passing your details on to a third party I don't want cpw to have them
