charge for call i haven't made

I have been charged £53 for a call i didn't make

the number is [removed]. It corresponds to the USA country code and it comes up (in google) that it is a fraudulent number 

have you came across this number before? 

i am requesting O2 to cancel the charge and they said they will give me 25% discount on that total amount???(!!)

No I haven't seen that number before. Are you sure they didn't call you and you responded by pressing a digit to listen to more?

There are quite a few 001 numbers doing the rounds claiming your visa account has been hacked. If you did NOT make the call then O2 should be able to check your call records and refund you in full.

Does the number show in your call history or in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2 ?

So, for a number to be billed it has to have been called from the SIM card in question, the carrier does not have the ability to manually choose to add a call charge to your bill that is automated based on the numbers dialed from the SIM during the billing cycle.

Yes it would be on the phone logs. If it is then you bite the bullet and take the hit.
