No idea why but for some reason I can't join o2 as I can't pass the credit checks. Never had any problems. I'm currently with 3 on a sim only contract. Never had any issues.

Hi,

Have you recently moved as you may not be on the electoral register yet.

The best advice is to ask Experian by a one off £2 fee or join their trial period to check your credit reference file.

If something is their that shouldn't be then you can dispute it.

Have you recently applied for any additional credit (such as a new Credit card, new overdraft, or new insurance policies) as this could be because there has been a number of credit searches done on your account in the past few days?

Alternatively, if you have a number of credit cards resulting in a large amount of available borrowing to you and you're looking for a refresh tariff it could be because you have too much available to you. It is always recommended to close any outstanding credit accounts that are not in use when you have multiples.

You could re apply for a contract.

The downside to this as stated is that if you have too many searches applied to your file it could look like your overstretching yourself.

In conclusion its not Experian thats stopping you getting a contract, but o2 who make the final decision.

Check that your address and postcode are correct and the same on all your accounts and your application to O2 and matches your bank statement.. Their data base has been known to be outdated, especicially in the case of flat numbers or house numbers, apartment blocks etc.

Are you getting stuck at the verified by visa screen? If so, I had this problem and had to call them to remove a block they had placed on my order before I could proceed. Found the number by looking on my bank's website.
