buying second contract

I have an existing paymonthly contract but wanted to buy a 2nd one. 

I have added the product to my account, when I go to check out if I choose "get a new number" will that be a separate contract/sim or will it replace my existing contract?

A new number will give you the extra sim which is what you want.
