i am trying to unwanted calls and textes coming through to my phon sony ericsson w995 any ideas

If your getting nuisence calls you can change your number once for free.

Some phones have blocking settings as a feature.

Look at ;

go to the main menu on the phone. Next go to 'settings', 'calls' and then 'manage calls'. Lastly go to 'accept calls' and 'calls from a list'. Select the phone numbers that you would like to receive calls from.

Quite an old phone. You might want to think about upgrading soon. New Samsungs have a call and text blocking facility, and I believe the next iPhone will too. I just Googled 'block calls and texts  on sony ericsson w995' and there are some suggestions there. You should take a look.
