The system usually updates at midnight. If your account still isn't unblocked this morning you need to contact customer services preferably by phone

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

O2 will wait until your payment has fully cleared before removing the block so it isn't an instant action.

Don't do anything rash like leaving the contract otherwise you will get a demand for full payment and a default on your credit file which will probably stop you getting mortgages, a mobile contract anywhere, any form of HP agreement for the next 6 years. Also debt collection letters followed by an inevitable bailiff knocking on your door. O2 will just pass on your debt to a collection agency.

So much easier to reinstate the direct debit.

@Anonymous  If your phone is still blocked, borrow someone's phone and call customer service on 0800 032 1402.

Have you tried restarting your phone?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
