airtime plan contract query

Am I likely to be tied into my airtime contract in the same way as my device contract?  I took them out Jan 2018 for 24 mths, but I want to shop around for a better airtime deal as I need more data.  Would I pay a penalty for swapping to a different network for a better airtime deal, but keep the device plan going with O2?

Unfortunately you cannot keep one without the other. You can pay off the device plan and then give 30 days notice on the airtime but you dont have any option to just keep the device plan.
