Hi All,
My contract expires 13/02/2014, with the natural upgrade being 13/01/2014.
I'm currently on a package costing around £55 a month (which includes extra data totaling 1gb) for 1200mins and ultd txts.
I barely use the service for anything other than data (bills show average of 680mb). Average minutes usage is around 50 minutes and txts, unknown, but probably less than 100.
Normally, I would have signed for 24 months to get the phone. My Galaxy Note 2 is still in perfect condition and in comparison to what's out there, not worth getting a new phone as yet.
My dilemma is that I could go SIM only, with minimal mins & txts, and 1gb data, but this still works out more than some PAYG options, specifically aimed at data. I have wifi at home and tend to skype more than anything else.
Ideally I would go PAYG, but the deals seem more and more to push you towards contract, or provide clauses that would effectively expire unused credit, which again, pushes towards another contract.
I've always been happy with o2. Never a problem, so would ideally like to stay with o2. I can get 50% discount through the company I work for (not named), however, as the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I've dealt with far too many people who have had problems with the company I work for.
My questions are:
Thanks,

Check the tariffs for sim only here:
and here:
https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/simplicity/
or look at GiffGaff, Tesco or CPW etc to see what they can offer.

Thanks everyone.
Giffgaff seems to be the better solution.
