Will be saying goodbye to o2 once my contact is over

I have been with o2 for nearly 10 years and have never occured any problems with them.

On 20.2.2010, my phone was disconnected due to an outstanding bill i was told. The women on the phone told me it was there mistake as my bill was not due til the 29th and she connected me back immediatly.

Wel you can imagine my shock today when i recieve a bank statement and o2 have took £606.97 out of my account on the 1st march. Apparently this was a termination fee, even though i never terminated my contract. Yes they have refunded the money which will take up to 10 working days, but i am still not happy with the situation

For the past month I believed I have just overspent and have been absolutly worried about my financial state, the money they took out made me go overdrawn and i have had to lend money from family members just to get me by. As i am a student, i rely on my student loans to get by and £600 is a huge chunk from my money. I am aboslutely furious about this.

If this amount was taken in error and has pushed you into an overdraft, then I think you would have a legitimate claim for a refund of the bank charges.

You will have to also check your credit file to ensure this is removed from it.

It sounds like a genuine system error that has caused this, but O2 should ensure that you do not suffer as a result.

If you write to the Complaints Department I am sure they will sort this out for you.

Thank you for that Smiley Happy

I am going to put a complaint in, luckily there was money in my account but going into my overdraft is not a good thing

Were the funds collected by Direct Debit?

It might be worth trying to get an immediate reimbursement of the funds via the Direct Debit Guarantee. http://www.bacs.co.uk/Bacs/Consumers/Di ... antee.aspx

Was just about to say the same. Ask your back to process an indemnity claim and then O2 will sort the funds out to cover the charges on your bill in the mean time. Your bank by law has 24 hours to get it back to you.
