I know which is why I said you could tell us if a generic sim is supported?
We have no info from O2 so wouldn't know although they did sat recently that they wouldn't support EAP on non o2 sims.

No, I am talking about with an O2 SIM, but on an arbitary device not on the list of supported devices, by manually selecting EAP-SIM as the authentication method when connecting.

One more thing, authenticating with a SIM of another carrier will work if WiFi roaming is supported. I tried this in Hong Kong when I use my Chinese SIM.

Yes, that could work - new devices are added to compatibility list all the time.
