I can’t send a photo by text from my iPhone 7+ Is there a reason for this?

To send an MMS you need mobile data turning on which is different from sending a picture via iMessage which will work over WiFi.
If it’s not working on mobile data and assuming you have at least a good 3G signal, try texting the word “Active” to 2020 to ensure you have the correct data settings.

@Couchie16 You'd be better off sending your photos by email over WiFi. Won't cost you anything.

You could use WhatsApp or FB Messenger if the recipient has the app

Settings > Messages > SMS/MMS

 

The 1st option is MMS Messaging.. make sure it’s switched on
