Actually not quite all, the auto top payment lines are brightly awaiting your hard earned. If I had to guess it would be the that the network between here and South Africa ( 02's outsourced CS call centre is in SA) is down, as @jonsie says.
'But wait' I hear you cry 'isn't O2 a Telco whose main aim in life is to keep such networks up? '
Not exactly, they or maybe the outsourced provider will be buying low bandwidth bulk wholesale rate SIP VoIP international trunking services to the O2 termination numbers at fractions of a penny per minute of voice time.
'Fractions of a penny you say?? Can we have some of that? It currently cost's me £1.50 a minuite to call Uncle Mangosuthu in South Africa on his birthday??
No
Which also begs the question if these call centres are international 24/7 operations serving customers like O2 all over the world, why are they only open for 6 hours on UK Bank Holidays? Especially when those days aren't bank holidays in SA.?

Not all of the call centres are in South Africa so you are partly inaccurate

OK largely in South Africa. Capita Customer Management who run this for o2 have contact centres is Poland and Mumbai as well as legacy tupe ones in the UK. But being as the UK ones pay £10 an hour and the Gauteng ones £10 a day you can see why the bulk of the cs contacts at 1st tier go to SA.
