Well I've heard that 3&EE are bidding too buy the 02 network as well.

EE will certainly NOT be buying o2 as this would give them almost 60% of the market and the regulators won't allow it.

My view is that BT will take over one of them, don't know which. 3 might go for the other but again the regulators are keen to keep 4 networks in the uk to keep competition high.

In Europe regulators are warming to the idea of 3 networks in each country but that always comes with conditions that may not always be agreeable to the operators.

There are a whole load of rumours going around, but it will take a little while for these rumours to really mature. BT want to buy o2, then BT wants to buy EE, then Three wants to buy o2, then vodafone wants to takeover Liberty Global who owns Virgin Media, then vodafone wants to buy Blinkbox from Tesco.... and on and on and on.... someone feel free to add some more rumours
